At last weeks kick off party, I shared our over-arching theme for 2017. You may have noticed the pic 🙂 Why have a theme? Well, clearly you don’t have to. I like a theme because it becomes a focus point, a one-word summary of what I want to achieve, focus on and the reason why I’m doing all of the actions that I’m doing. Having said that, I’m going to have two. One for my business and one for personally. Here are mine and the reasons, What are yours? I shared this on social media the other day and was inspired by some of the answers, please share in the comments your theme for 2017!
Business theme – Kickass Beanstalk; You know, the truth is I have been told to stay small. I’ve been told to stay regional and be away from the city ( that last comment was actually from a perceived competitor – not a competitor in my eyes though but the other way around), So we are focussing exactly on the opposite. We have a plan to grow WWA in 2017 and grow fast, grow strong and sturdy, supporting a large community. Beanstalk is high, and it grows fast, It can hold the weight of giants, and it reaches up into new lands in the sky. Love it
Personally, my theme for 2017 is boundaries. I was going to write balance, but I think a little bit of vomit came up in my mouth…. I want to set up for success, not an impossibility! Boundaries for those that know is a good word for me. Generous people pleasers like me can blur these boundaries. What does this look and feel like for me? It means not answering the phone or messages after hours unless life threatening. It means that stopping working at certain times of the day to be present with my family. It means saying I’ll come back to you and pondering what is required and whether it will work for me before automatically saying yes. And wow am I being tested on these already one month in LOL.
