Hello everyone,
Lets start Monday morning with some joy shall we?
Its so lovely to be back home after 2 weeks of back to back conferences. I must tell you that I was a space cadet yesterday, and I have notebooks and iPad full of notes to review from firstly Problogger and then the CBA Women in Focus Conference held last week in Noosa. I can’t wait to share what I learnt with you all in the coming weeks.
Here’s a bit of an overview:
Problogger was inspirational with 700 other everyday people, bloggers, business owners and it was heaps of fun being there with 7 other of our WWA community. We heard the inspirational story of Thank You Water, and the vision behind Rafiki Mwema. We learnt so many technical things about blogging, monetization, community, design and SEO that my mind was boggled.
At the CBA Women in Focus conference, I was inspired by women from all over Australia and their stories. Margo Ward and how she founded Kids Xpress. I met the Queen of Channel 10 herself, Sandra Sully who was candid and honest about her career in the media. I listened to Laura Egan’s story of how she started an Enterprise Learning Project for indigenous Australians in the Northern Terrority to learn about business and was fortunate to meet Margaret Duncan an artist from Urapunga.
Turia Pitt was so beautiful and quirky and funny and reminded me that we can overcome anything that we decide to.
Whilst the knowledge and the information was inspiring, the great gift I will tale away was how I was challenged personally during these 2 weeks. I had a severe case of imposter syndrome that was difficult to shift and I have learnt more about myself as I have attempted to peel that layer back, more on that in the coming week.
For now its wonderful to be home, my daughters can attest to that with the cover picture of this blog post has a Pokemon with a message from Annie. Now I can start returning some of these phone calls!
I look forward to catching up with you all.
Warmest hugs
Andy xx
